Time -- a priceless resource

I always thought and was taught that money was the prime building block for success. What I've learned recently is that time may be an even stronger cornerstone for success. Money can be saved for later and money that is wasted can be earned back. But time must be used as it comes, for once a moment is past it will never come again. As Robin Williams so poignantly said in Dead Poets' Society, "Seize the Day!"

I realize that I have exactly one chance to make the best of today and that opportunity is upon me right now. The time I spend today can bring a magnificent and lasting return, or it can bring a lifetime of regret. The same concept of time applies to you as well.

Today can never be replaced. It is yours to use right now. You cannot save it for later, but you can turn it into an achievement that will continue to bring value long into the future. Time can be priceless or it can be worthless, depending on what you do with it.

This very day is a vein of the purest gold, waiting to be mined. Your efforts will make that treasure a reality. If you waste the day, no amount of money can buy you another "today."

I choose to follow my inner wisdom and make the most of my day no matter what activities I engage in. However I choose to spend my day, I'm going to give it my full attention. If I choose to use my time to write or to conduct business, I'm going to stay focused on the task at hand rather than worrying about how I'm going to spend my time tomorrow. Tomorrow will take care of itself! If I choose to spend my time playing tennis with friends or relaxing with a yummy goodie and watching the sun set, I'm going to enjoy every moment of the time without feeling guilty about what else I should be doing. In other words, to get the most out of my life, I'll make conscious decisions on how I spend my priceless resource, my time.

What are you going to do with your day?
